Screen Printer Wanted

Job Title: Screen Printer

Hours: Full-Time. 40 Hours a Week - Paid weekly.

Schedule: Monday - Friday.

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pre-requisites:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to commit to at least one-year minimum upon completion of the training period
  • Must be able to pass a drug test if required.
  • Must have a high-school diploma (or proof of GED).
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours a week
  • Preferably knowledge in photoshop, illustrator, quickbooks, excel, word, and other general computer skills.

We are a high production facility, and employees will be expected to abide by the rules and regulations stated in the policies and procedures. Employees will be expected to “earn their keep” and print the jobs at hand consistently and with quality, unless instructed otherwise. Screen printing may look like fun and games, (and don’t take that wrong, it is a very intriguing trade to partake in) but we are a very labor intensive company that may require long hours, flexible shifts, and overtime in order to complete jobs by their due date. Upon consideration of employment, person(s) will be provided with a copy of our policies and procedures and are expected to have retained a sufficient amount of information to adequately perform tasks on the first day of the job. Employees will be expected to show improvement, determination, and comprehension of the tasks at hand, and the environment around them at all time, even after the training period. Employees will be subject to a two week training period prior to official employment, during this time we will make the determination whether or not one is compatible with the position at hand.

Job Requirements:

Employees hired on to Paramount Printing for the “Screen Printer” position will be expected to have sufficient knowledge of the ongoing jobs, and job status’ at all times. The screen printer’s main responsibility is to print the jobs at hand, whilst assisting with other various other components of the process (i.e. Cleaning screens, burning screens, taking out trash, checking in jobs, answering the phone, taking orders). We expect the printer to strive towards primarily printing at all times whenever possible, and only assisting in other departments in times of need. Employees must have a good sense of numbers, be able to keep track of multiple tasks / deadlines at a given time, follow instructions with concise precision, and produce more than their cost in wages on a regular & consistent basis. New employees tend to want to “re-invent the wheel” while in the training process -- DON’T. We do not want to cripple anyone’s creativity for any reason, or in any way, but we have been screen printing for over twenty years and we know how to avoid tragic situations that may arise due to lack of experience by the trainee. Screen printing is a trade, just like becoming an electrician, and screen printing is one of the steps of the larger process. The designated screen printer will be expected to keep up with the amount of incoming jobs and complete the jobs thoroughly, and precisely. (i.e. count out each job, check for pin-holes, make sure the customer is notified the job has been completed). There cannot be enough emphasis on this key aspect: PRODUCTION. We have a high output rate and frequent rush jobs that need to be completed in a timely manner with no room for error. This responsibility is that of the screen printer. We expect that the printer takes precautions when working with chemicals, or around hot machines or product. We also expect that all of our tools, machines, presses, and “things” in the workplace are treated with respect and are not to be tampered with unless given permission to do so. The screen printer will be expected to take initiative and pick up on the “flow” of the shop, thus not requiring guidance as to what jobs are currently at hand. We hope to teach our employees the art of screen printing because at the end of the day there is no better feeling than seeing a team full of little tikes rocking around in some custom made jerseys that you printed.
